My third portrait of David Bowie:
I am feeling bolder and more confident in painting David now. I am allowing myself to use more color and thicker paint. Less re-working and more intuition now.
I was always a fan of David Bowie and had him on my play list for painting music. After he passed away I felt led to paint him, and once I started I couldn't stop at just one. I looked at thousands of pictures of him and drew non stop. I played his music the whole time I painted.
I began to create my own images of him and started painting.
He has the most incredible cheek bones and a beautiful mouth and lips. I loved studying the way his eye lids fell over his eyes.
The more I learned about him, the more I loved him. He is such a fascinating and talented individual. He was a pioneer in so many ways.
